Bluetooth trackers compared

A source-checked view of the features that change whether a tracker is useful—not just what looks good on a box.

01

There are three networks, not four

The products in this comparison use Apple Find My, Google Find Hub or Samsung SmartThings Find. Pebblebee's ability to join Apple or Google does not create a fourth network; the tracker must be reset when switching.

Choose the network used by the phone that will manage the tag. That decision eliminates incompatible products before price and battery become relevant.

02

Precision is a nearby feature

UWB and Bluetooth Channel Sounding help when the owner is already near the item. They do not replace the crowd network used to report a far-away location.

Android UWB needs Android 12 and supported hardware. Samsung Compass View needs Android 11 on a compatible Galaxy phone. AirTag 2 improved Precision Finding is limited to Apple's supported recent iPhones.

03

Battery claims need context

Replaceable CR2032 batteries are convenient for long storage and travel. Rechargeable designs reduce coin-cell waste but require remembering a charging cycle.

Published endurance is a manufacturer claim affected by ringing, precision finding, temperature and network use. The comparison keeps the wording 'up to' or 'over' rather than converting every claim into a false exact ranking.

04

The shape changes the useful object

A 5.4 mm tracker is easier to place in a wallet than an 8.5 mm clip. A built-in loop makes keys simpler. Water resistance and a secure holder matter more for bikes and luggage.

This is why the recommendation engine uses the selected object as a scoring input rather than treating design as cosmetic.

05

How evidence quality is shown

Manufacturer pages receive a manufacturer-source label. Platform rules such as Android UWB requirements receive a platform-documentation label. New products supported only by launch coverage are labelled launch reporting.

A product can still be included with secondary evidence, but unknown retail behaviour and regional availability remain visible limitations.

FAQ

Questions people ask before buying

Which tracker works with both Android and iPhone?

Pebblebee Clip 5 can be reset for either Google Find Hub or Apple Find My, but it cannot use both networks at once.

Which products include an attachment?

Galaxy SmartTag2 has a built-in loop, Chipolo ONE Point has a built-in keyring hole and Pebblebee Clip 5 includes a keyring carabiner.

Which tracker has the longest battery claim?

Moto tag 2 publishes a claim of more than 600 days. Real battery life still depends on use and environment.

Are Bluetooth trackers real-time GPS devices?

No. They rely on nearby Bluetooth and participating phones in a crowd network. They should not replace a GPS safety tracker.
